1. Service description

Job Search Toolkit is an AI-powered CV and interview preparation tool. The service helps you articulate your work experience through guided conversations, extract structured CV bullets and STAR interview stories, analyse target roles against market data, and produce tailored career documents.

The service is provided via the web application at app.jobsearchtoolkit.uk.

2. Account registration

To use Job Search Toolkit, you must create an account through our authentication provider, Clerk. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate registration information
  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

3. Acceptable use

When using Job Search Toolkit, you agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Submit content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes on others' rights
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or its systems
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the service
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the service or its output
  • Use the service to generate content for purposes other than your own career development
  • Intentionally overload or disrupt the service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Intellectual property

Your content

You retain ownership of the content you provide to Job Search Toolkit, including your work experience descriptions, career details, and any documents you upload. By using the service, you grant us a limited licence to process this content in order to provide the service to you.

Our service

The Job Search Toolkit service, including its design, code, and functionality, is our intellectual property. These terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the right to use the service as described here.

5. AI-generated content

Job Search Toolkit uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude) to help extract, structure, and tailor career content. It is important to understand:

  • Output is suggestions, not professional advice. The CV bullets, STAR stories, gap analysis, and other output generated by the service are AI-assisted suggestions based on what you provide. They are not guarantees of accuracy, completeness, or suitability.
  • You are responsible for reviewing all output. Always review and verify AI-generated content before using it in job applications, CVs, or interviews. The service aims to preserve your authentic voice, but you should ensure the output accurately reflects your experience.
  • No guarantee of outcomes. Using Job Search Toolkit does not guarantee job interviews, offers, or career outcomes. The service is a tool to help you prepare — the results depend on many factors beyond our control.
  • AI processing involves third parties. Your content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. See our Privacy Policy for details on how your data is handled.

6. Service availability

Job Search Toolkit is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free access to the service
  • That the service will meet your specific requirements
  • The accuracy or reliability of any output generated by the service

We may update, modify, or temporarily suspend the service for maintenance, improvements, or other reasons. We will endeavour to provide advance notice of planned downtime where possible.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Job Search Toolkit and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater.
  • We are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on AI-generated content, including but not limited to missed job opportunities, inaccurate CV content, or unsuitable interview preparation.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.

8. Pricing and payments

Job Search Toolkit is currently free during the early access period. All features are available at no cost and no credit card is required.

When paid plans are introduced, we will:

  • Update these terms with full pricing and payment details
  • Notify existing users by email before any charges apply
  • Honour any commitments made to early access users

9. Termination

You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

We may terminate or suspend your account if:

  • You breach these terms of service
  • We are required to do so by law
  • We discontinue the service (with reasonable notice)

Upon termination, you may request deletion of your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice on the service. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
